Big for a Day
On Independence Day, The Maritime Financial Group teamed up with local NGO, Beauty in Essence, to host “Big for a Day”
“Big for a Day” pairs children from several children’s homes and underprivileged communities with a Big Brother and Big Sister volunteer for a day of fun activities including sport, art and craft, heart to heart talks and the opportunity to find a friend in a mentor. This event emphasizes the importance of youth mentorship as volunteers boost the children’s self-esteem by encouraging them to recognize their strength.
The day was definitely a memorable one, with volunteers helping the kids to learn volleyball skills, football skills, engage in team activities, enjoy Zumba and celebrate the Independence of our lovely island Trinbago.
